What Is the Paleo Diet?

The Paleo diet is considered one of the healthiest way you can eat. It is proven to be the ONLY nutritional approach that works with your genetics to help you stay lean, strong and energetic!

One of the world’s leading experts in Paleolithic nutrition, “Robb Wolf” is who I read up on when it comes to educating myself on how this amazing diet works!

In a nutshell, this is what it means: When you are following the Paleo Diet, you can eat anything we could hunt or grab from the dirt of the earth back in cave man days – things like meats, fish, nuts, leafy greens, regional veggies, and seeds.

You cant eat any food that didn’t exist during the stone ages. So no candy, cereal..all the good stuff lol

There is no calorie counting involved with the Paleo Diet, all you have to do is eat the right foods.

What I enjoy about this diet is that all I have to do concur my obsession with Reese Cups and chocolate chip cookies and focus on my relationship with foods from the earth.

And they were pretty fit right? Our DNA hasn’t changed much since our ancient relatives have passed on into the universe.benefits

The average Homo Sapien back then: muscular, agile, athletic, and incredibly versatile.

The average Homo Sapien now: fat, out of shape, stressed out, unhappy, sleep deprived and dying from far too many preventable diseases due due to lifestyle choices.

How did this take place? Agriculture!

9,500 BC is when humans discovered farming. We’ve since then formed societies, and turned into an industrial society.

Now, the issue is that our creatively developed bodies have adjusted to the new foods that we’ve been consuming. Sugar, carbs, coffee (umm I love coffee)

As Paleo guru Robb Wolf pretty much says “Our diet has shifted (but our genetics haven’t)”.

We’ve become a society that is “dependent” upon carbs. Our government here in the U.S  recommends 6-11 servings of grains a day. And we eat it. We love it. We’re unhealthy.

Before starting my journey on living the Paleo lifestyle, I will continue to do my research and share my findings with you all in the interim of time.
